Introducing Lava stone furniture

Function and performance in an artwork

This is certainly one of the most exciting products we have ever seen hit the furniture market. Our design team spotted these at a world trade show in Europe last year and after the terrific feedback we received we decided to partner with ceramic masters and manufacturers Domiziani to bring these to Australia.

We have just received the tables and they are something to behold. They really are works of art built into functional furniture.

Starting with a frame that can take a variety of different sized panels there are so many different looks that can achieved. With combinations ranging from vivid colour mixes to earthy tones and meticulous floral designs, there is something to suit all tastes.

From a technical perspective the construction and materials are like nothing we have ever seen. When our product installation and maintenance specialist Christian put these together he couldn't rave enough about them.

"The frame looks flawless from the outside with a perfect finish but it's the construction of it that I love. It has hidden rebated joins, extra reinforcing and millimeter perfect components, it was fun to build. Are you sure NASA didn't make this?"

On top of the frame we place 20mm slabs of basalt cut from lava flows. Basalt has been used for centuries in construction because it is super strong and impervious to weather.

The result is this extraordinarily solid table. After being baked in the manufacturing process these stone slabs are able to withstand temperatures from -50 to 1000. That has Australia covered.

They will handle the sun, the rain, snow and salt Don't worry about spills and you can even throw a fiery hotplate right on top.

We have put together a few different styles and we are trying with various chairs from our range and some discovered some really attractive combinations. Check out our Lava dining page for pricing and updates on available settings.
