The undeniable elegance of cast aluminum furniture

Having used cast aluminium outdoor furniture for years in our dining range we are still unsure if it's growing popularity is due more to its elegant look or the superb performance qualities it delivers for the Australian outdoors.

What is cast aluminium?

Cast aluminium is the result of pouring molten aluminium into a mould to form a single piece. Royalle Outdoors utilise the process extensively in the manufacture of their range of outdoor dining chairs.

Moulds of chair backs and seats, chair arms and legs are all produced as part of this range. Individual pieces are welded together and sometimes combined with tubular aluminium to create elegant furniture pieces.

The advantages of cast aluminium outdoor furniture

Cast aluminium ticks a lot of boxes for us when it comes to evaluating the suitability fo a material for use in an Australian backyard. This is why we love it;

1. It will not rust. This is important not only to maintain the integrity of the furniture piece over many years but it also won't stain any surface. A great option for coastal regions and uncovered applications.

2. It will not rot, split or peel. Unlike some timbers or other materials aluminium will perform in any weather for years.

3. An aluminium seat base will never sag. The solid structure that a cast piece provides and the inherent strength of the material ensures that the base will remain stable for the life of the chair.

4. Tremendous strength to weight ratio. Even using solid aluminium the weight of an individual piece is decidedly less than why you would find with a material like steel. This ensures your furniture is nice and mobile, handy for storage and cleaning.

5. Low maintenance. We love outdoor furniture that requires little attention to stay looking great. Cast aluminium won't need to be maintained with oils or protective coatings making it largely maintenance free. Clean with a little soap and water or even just hose it off.

6. Stackable chairs. Almost all designs lend themselves to be stacked making storage and transport efficient.

7. UV resistance. Unlike some other natural materials or synthetics these will display excellent resistance to the Australian sun.

8. Mix and match. This product can be used with a number of table styles and colours. With the whole Royalle range available individually they can be paired up with any table you like. The charcoal coloured chairs are a favourite with a natural stone top table and the new whitewash models look great with a matching aluminium table. Here are a few of the most popular combinations;
